Move About Myrtle
MARP is kicking this year’s Move About Myrtle on September 5th with a “Back to School Celebration”! Come join us for a day of fun and games before heading back to hit the books, or just for a last summer hurrah! The first Sunday is already jam-packed with free activities, music, and merchant specials, and we’re confirming more every week. Activities for the whole family include -
  • Facepainting, street games, hula hoops and chalking
  • Cooking demos and tastings
  • Yoga and dance classes on the street
  • Live mural making
  • Dance party with Soul Summit!
New contest this year - we’ll select one lucky winner each week to receive $100 in Myrtle gift certificates! To enter, follow us on Facebook or enter at our MARP table at the events, located between Washington and Hall. You can also pick up your Explore Myrtle Avenue game cards at every Sunday event, and enter for your chance to win a Myrtle shopping spree later in the fall!

Our first ever bike/scooter/big wheel parade from Hall to Clermont kicks of 9/26, with lots of bike-themed programs throughout the day!

Free Pencils and Notebooks at Habana Outpost’s Back to School Bash Monday, September 6th 2010 (Labor Day) 12-5pm Presented by Sean Meenan and Habana Works.
Sean Meenan is kicking off the 2010 School Year with the third annual Back to School Bash at Habana Outpost.
Bring the kids out for one last day of summer fun at Fort Greene’s favorite family eco-eatery! This year there will be free stilt walkers, clowns, face painting, games, prizes, crafts, a dance party and as always free notebooks and pencils for all school aged children while supplies last.

Habana Outpost’s Back to School Bash

The Brooklyn Music School is proud to announce the opening of their first in house - After School Program.

The program offers a diverse and engaging mix of programming that is culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and based on standard youth development models. Children and youth will be able to participate in 45 minutes dance classes of their selection (minimum 5 students per dance class) and 30 minutes of music lessons - (instrument of choice.)

The curriculum is based on a program model that focuses on learning enhancement, and building competence and confidence in children and youth. Academic Support (Homework Help-Tutoring) is offered along with the use of our state of the art computer lab.

The program runs every day for 35 weeks, except holidays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in a supervised and structured environment.
