ASP Suspended Due to Storm
This Weekend in Fort Greene

We hope that everyone has weathered the storm. At least this is one thing you don’t have to worry about.
Alternate Side Parking regulations are suspended Citywide on Friday, September 17 2010 for storm cleanup.
All other regulations, including parking meters, remain in effect. For further info go to http://www.nyc.gov or contact 311.
This from FGA Board Member Mary Priebe on the storm-
There are 7 trees down in Ft. Greene Park. All in a direct line. 3 downed along the steps up to monument, toppled down to the roots. The top of a beat up old tree to the north side of the Visitor’s Center and a HUGE old tree just to the east of the Center. Another, probably original tree ‘topped’ at about 15 feet up with the entire canopy piece of the tree lying to the east. Top of another tree near by, before the ‘big wind’ exited at Willoughby taking out a big old oak just off Willoughby on Carlton. The rest of the park has assorted downed branches, but the path of downed trees along the north to east corner of the park is remarkable.
Big hail too. Seems no real damage to personal property/cars/homes, though some tossed furniture in many back yards.

Move About Myrtle
Move About Myrtle 9/18: Curious Pedestrians, BAMCafe’ Live, FDNY Smoke House, and more!

Ok, so the weather was less than perfect last weekend, but it didn’t rain on the Good Food Fest’s parade! We had a blast from noon until 3pm (when we had to call it due to showers), with Rude Mechanical Orchestra, Tillie the art dog, and tons of foodies, food organizations and tasty food. So far so good for this Sunday, with a summer-like 80 degree day forecasted, so come out and enjoy the day on Myrtle! You won’t want to miss this one - we’ve got a special featured public art program this week, The Case of the Curious Pedestrian , organized by our own curator-in-residence, Christina Vassallo! Click here for full exhibition details!!!

Oh…and, of course, don’t forget about the Explore Myrtle Avenue contest, and our Facebook fan appreciation raffle!
