The 33rd Annual Fort Greene House Tour is being held on May 1, 2016 from noon to 5pm. This self-guided walking tour provides inside access to one of Brooklyn’s most interesting and diverse neighborhoods, In addition to our wonderful selection of homes to visit, this tour features two special reservation-only guided tours: A backstage tour of the 1908 Brooklyn Academy of Music and a guided tour of Fort Greene Park featuring access to the Prison Ships Marytyrs Monument. Reservations to our special tours are available only to PayPal purchasers and must be arranged in advance. For more information go to www.fgahousetour.org. Advance tickets are $25 and can be purchased either via PayPal (through the website) or at the following local establishments (cash only). Day-of-tour tickets are $30 and can be purchased solely at BAM (cash only).

250 Ashland Place, a new affordable housing building in Fort Greene, is accepting applications now through April 11th, 2016
Studios, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments will be offered to low, moderate and middle income families. The selection process is by lottery giving each applicant an equal chance of selection. There is no application fee. There is no brokers fee. The apartments will be permanently rent stabilized.
Apartments at 250 Ashland Place are beautifully appointed, and feature central air, plank wood floors, granite counters, dishwashers, stainless steel appliances, and washer/dryers (in all 2 and 3 bedroom units). Amenities in the building include: 24-hour attended lobby, fitness center, playroom, resident lounge, concierge, bike storage, and laundry in building (Additional fees may apply).
Eligibility is based on total annual income and household size. The application period runs until April 11 and applications can be submitted at www.nyc.gov/housingconnect. Paper applications can also be requested and must be postmarked by the April 11th deadline. Residents of Brooklyn Community Board #2 will receive a 50% preference, municipal employees will receive a 5% preference and 5% of the apartments will be set-aside for applicants with mobility impairments as well as 2% for applicants with hearing or vision impairments.
